New hockey card thought....???
I was just wondering if any hockey hobby card collector companies have thought of the idea about taking the TIES from coaches they wear during important playoff or even regular season games? The main question would have to be if the coaches were willing to cooperate and turn-over their favorite ties...wheather they think they look good in it or have sentimental/superstitious value to them (the coaches). If coordinated properly, the coaches could assemble something similar to the NHLPA and form a union to deligate the action of the hockey card companies.
One interesting observation that I have in the last few months...since I started to collect and search more for my favorite players/teams; is that sets are starting to have more and more cards compared to say the 90's and early 2000's. My NEW idea might not be a solution to the advocates of "less cards" for monetary gain but I think it makes for a good product to collect...I mean, who doesn't love Gerry Cheevers!!! Well, that was my little blog/bright idea of the day. Thanks for reading and lets all enjoy the playoff HOCKEY.

I think it'd be a good novelty for a set, or two..... I know I'd be interested in 'GU' cards of most Oilers coaches (past & present). I think they've done suit cards a few times (Scotty Bowman, Don Cherry) so it's not that crazy of an idea.

Give us pieces of Carbonneau's ugly lucky tie!

Seriously, the Habs were undefeated when he wore this baby.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I'm surprised they haven't grabbed some of Cherry's suits. Some of those you could get 8 colors in 1 swatch lol

I agree some Tie cards would be cool.Last edited by hossa18sens; 06-09-2010 at 09:32 AM.

I get your point -- but I still think this is one of the coolest cards ever. Here's mine:

PS.. I think the Coach's tie idea is an awesome one -- somebody should pitch that to UD. Although I'm not sure the Coach would want to part with his "lucky" tie.. it's usually lucky for a reason! lol

Roger Nielson would be most fitting for this type set.

Their may be some really good cards to get but at the same time their would be some really, really bad cards made.
