Is High-End always better than Low-End?

I wanted to start a thread about this just to see what everyone's opinion on this was. I've been trying to trade here lately and have had a lot of offers for a low-end card of mine that was /25. Most of the stuff offered was of a High End card /100. Am I crazy for not wanting to trade that or do I have some semblance of sanity left in my thinking? lol

Are you saying that you consider /25 low end and /100 high end? High end generally means the card is rarer, more valuable, or of a great player. In your case, your rarer card #'rd to 25 would be considered high-end where the card #'rd to 100 would be low-end, just based on the print runs you provided. I hope I made sense.

You know what? If it is an auto card and both are on stickers, I am 100% convinced they are about equal. Honestly, the player probably signed a ton of stickers and some went on some lower end cards and some went on high end cards. To me, a high end card with a sticker is exactly the same.

If it has a patch/something extra then it changes everything. I used to PC Jon Beason and his /25 hard to find auto cards went for 10-12 and his on card exquisite /150 went for around 15. It was on card and just his nicest looking base rookie auto. It always just depends.

To provide a better and more personal example, the cards I was specifically talking about were a Melo patch 25/25 from the 09-10 Classics and a Rondo GU /100 from Timeless Treasures.

I really love the patch on it too. It looks like something out of geometry class.

The Melo card is clearly the Higher End.

But product ran for the same retail price (roughly) and you're comparing a low numbered patch to a standard GU.

I hope the guy I was negotiating the trade with doesn't read this and think I'm, well at the lack of a better term, a jerk for posting this thread. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being stubborn or ignorant as I'm pretty new to collecting.

I saw his reasoning on why he didn't want to do the trade because his cards came out of a pack that costs 100 bucks and I pulled mine out of a pack that retails for 6 dollars.

You all are calling my melo patch high end but I thought high end cards correlated to what brand/series they were from (how expensive they were to bust the pack like the treasures or exquisites). I'm glad I got that cleared up. I thought I was doomed at being able to trade high end cards because pretty much the only stuff I bust is cheap...er...cheaper lol.

if this happens then that person is a member that you probably dont want to deal with anyway. there is no reason for a good honest member to get upset with a trader wanting to get additional input or information on a trade or card.

If I pull a Jordan Auto out of a $3 UD Wal-Mart pack, and some guy has a Toney Douglas GU from a $100 pack, it doesn't make the Jordan low-end and the Douglas high-end.

Well put nadeau some of my higher end cards are out of 9.99 1/2 price blasters,the value is what matters not the brand.
