2010 TriStar TNA "The New Era" wrestling

2010 TriStar TNA "The New Era" wrestling

    Tristar Sell Sheet

    Per Box Items:
    Two autograph cards
    One parallel
    One event-used
    Two OBAK card

    Per Blaster Items:
    One autograph card

The standard sized cards offer a full color picture of the athlete in either an in-ring action, entrance, or posed shot. Simple basic graphics on the otherwise border-less cards list the Company, set, and players names and sub-set logo if any. The card backs feature a different color of the athlete and extended commentary of recent TNA activities and matches.

What I pulled: (from two blaster boxes, not retail boxes)
    41 unique cards
    39/100 base set cards
    2 autographs
    7 duplicates

    Base card front and back:

    The Hits:
    Syxx-Pac Auto
Mick Foley Auto (my scanned image link will not work, sorry)

    ************************************************** *******

I do love wrestling and wrestling cards! Please understand this review is what I pulled from the two blasters, not just the product itself. The card design and shot selection is much better then TriStar's earlier release, "Impact." That alone scores this product high for design and quality. I did pull the one guaranteed autograph per blaster, but was surprised to see seven duplicates. "The New Era" features the return to wrestling cards of Hulk Hogan and some cards of wrestlers from the other wrestling program like Jeff Hardy and Rob VanDam. There are a few subsets to collect within the base set, The Pop Icon, TNA Debut, Dynamic Duo and Monday Night Magic among them.

    The Bottom Line:
I give TriStar's TNA "The New Era" BLASTER BOXES a do not buy rating. Save your money and go buy a full retail box instead. The six hits in the retail box will make up for that alone, let alone the increased % of base set completion. The autos are sharp looking cards, but the number of dupes between the two blaster boxes was a disappointment. Again, full retail box, very good, blaster box, not worth it. Go buy a full retail box and trade your Sting cards to me!

The Final Score: for a Blaster box
    Final Ratings (Out of 5):
    Base set collect-ability: 1/5
    Big-hit Hunter: 3/5
    Prospector Hunter:NA
    Overall Design: 5/5
    Fun: 5/5
    Value: 5/5
    Re-buy: 3/5
    Overall Quality: 5/5

    Overall: 27/35 (77% = C)

I could use both autos if you are trading.

see, I'm the opposite. I'd say go and buy the blasters instead. Pay $20 and get an autograph or pay $75-80 for 3 hits (I'm sorry, two insert cards and a parallel should not be counted as a hit)

I bought one blaster........was disapointed .....got the velvet sky auto....was hoping for better auto .....anyone want to trade another auto for it? Not a big knockout fan except for christy hemme. Plmk if interested in some kind of trade. Did by 24 loose packs with only one hit......the kevin nash obak card. Overall this set is kinda a bust for me.

Same here, wasn't too impressed. I bought two blasters and pulled a Hamada auto and a SoCal Val. I'd move the Hamada for Velvet if you want.
