Last Player From the 1980s?
Who will be the last player from the 1980s left playing?
Years ago this seemed like a title that Griffey would have won easily but now that he is gone who is going to be the last player from the 1980s left? I added Sheffield to the poll even though he hasn't signed this year because he still wants to play (but I doubt anybody signs him).Selling all my cards here updated as of May------------> Hidden Content

Omar Vizquel... who else is left? Jamie Moyer? It's a toss up but looks like Moyer.

Moyer, I heard watching a Tigers/White Sox game that'd this would be Vizquel's last season, and I don't think Sheffield is even on a team, so i'd consider him done

My guess is Moyer...in fact Moyer should develop a knuckleball so that he can pitch for another 10 years or something!

I'm still waiting for Rickey Henderson to come out of retirement. Maybe the O's could use him. Until that happens though I have to go with Moyer.

Nice thread! I agree that Moyer will be the last (80's) man standing.

Moyer, hands down. Sheffield hasn't been picked up by anyone so its not likely that he will. Omar Vizquel has stated he's retiring after this season if I recall correctly. But Moyer has shown he's still a decent pitcher (and at times downright masterful) at his age.
