Question about redemptions
So I don't really buy a lot of packs/boxes, usually just singles/lots from eBay and here etc. Today I went on a little spree, and pulled my first redemption card. From what I previously read, and what I saw just a little bit ago while trying to redeem - UD has been pretty terrible with their redemption procedure/follow-through.
More to the point, I was on the UD site attempting to redeem my card and was given this message after entering my code:
This redemption offer is now expired. Unfortunately, late entries cannot be honored and our inventory is now depleted. We apologize that we can no longer assist you with this promotion.
So, obvious logic would dictate that I'm kinda just SOL on this redemption, but I was reading the back of the card and it said I had until 6/15/2011 to submit my redemption. So the two seem conflicting to me, and now I am left confused.
Is this redemption card 100% garbage to me now? Supposedly this particular redemption was for a #/99, do they really print more than 99 redemption cards for something with a print run of 99? Are they at fault for this? (As in, did they know it was going to be a /99 before issuing the redemption cards themselves).
Sorry for the plethora of questions, but again, it's my first time dealing with redemptions and they seem shady and disconcerting at best.
Thanks for any answers and help,
Adam

If I were you, I would call UD and get a case number, no reason you shouldn't be able to redeem a card that hasn't expiried, at least they should be able to replace it with something else. Hope that helps.

Who is the player? From what set? From what year?
You should be able to get the card - your best bet is to give Upper Deck's Customer Service a call and they should be able to help you out. Sometimes weird things happen online that one of their staffers can help resolve. They have, in some sets in the past, printed more redemptions than cards which does result in the stock being depleted, which makes them have to issue a suitable replacement.
Good luck getting it all straightened out!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

If it's supposed to be good until 2011, I'm sure Upper Deck will honor it - just talk to them. Something is mixed up with their system.

You're not totally SOL, but be prepared to wait for 30+ min on hold if you do decide to call UD.
They probably knew it was going to be /99 before they printed it. however, if this is one of those Black RC erros where everyone got sent the wrong card... then they had tore-send cards to everyone.. its not surprising that they ran out. will you get something for it? Hard to say, but you have to ask to be sure. The luck's in your favour though since the exp date is still valid.
Hope you get something.
Cheers,
reoddai

So I just got off the phone, after 23 minutes on hold. Apparently they couldn't help me over the phone because I couldn't provide a scan/picture of the card on the spot. So the guy left me his email and told him to just send a picture to that address when possibly. Seems like a lot of trouble for something that's only gonna book for $15-$25 :\
I'll update you guys later and see if anything becomes of this.
P.S. The hold music sounded like a 20 minute loop of instrumental Genesis/Phil Collins, lol :P

it would help if you told us the year, set, player, and card name. also, you could've just given the UD rep the redemption code to enter for into the system for you over the phone. they can tell whether a code has already been used or not.

I did "just give the rep the redemption code".
That's when we came across the problem of him not being able to help me without a picture of the card, if you read that part.
The card is a 2007-08 BAP Signatures redemption. RED-326, I believe it's supposed to be a Giroux #/99.
