Reality Check!
Just went through some MAJOR drama the last couple weeks and wanted to share it with all my fellow "card-heads". I'd been building my collection for years and must have spent thousands of hours at the swap meet, auctions, on-line, and at shows. Had so much stuff that I'd go through it and see stuff I had no idea was even in there (if you've collected as long as I have, you know EXACTLY what I mean). Anyway, the whole plan was to build it for my son (1 1/2 years old) so he could have a good head start like I wanted when I was younger, but all that went to "S". Now, if it was just me alone and single, I'd never consider it, but the family comes first and I barely hesitated... dropped years of time for a couple hundred bucks! I guess I'm just writing this cuz I know we all take our hobby seriously and enjoy it to the fullest, but I want every one of you to remember that life throws you some wicked curves and even a few sliders, and the main lesson learned from this is HAVE SOME FUN! I enjoyed hunting for that 93 Jeter rookie and dropping 25 cents for it and picking up that binder full of 68 topps commons, about 250, for 10 bucks... so I have no regrets. Just remember that this is a HOBBY for 90% of us, enjoy it while you can, collect what you enjoy having, and, most importantly of all, don't turn this great hobby into a stock market.

That's why I have a set dollar amount I spend every month and nothing more unless I sell some stuff first.

VERY GOOD - I was once "all consumed" by this hobby, but found that my family suffered. DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN FOLKS!
