Okay, like the man says....I TOO....am very tired of people calling certain stuff a 1/1 when it's not geniune. You want to know what your cards are worth? Put them on eBay. And you'll find out. It'll give you a ROUGH estimate. Because do you know how Beckett get's it's Price Guide? It get's feedback from select dealers all across the country for packs that had just recently hit the market. Then the dealer sells them before they hit the books. The price them accordingly...being a Beckett Recognized Dealer...I'm pretty sure they have a rough estimate....and they either rise or drop the prices of the card....on demand. Then they respond to Beckett's inquiry on the transactions of cards.

Due to the fact that those cards are low #'d. And there isn't enough transactions on them to give you an estimate, Beckett will not price them. That's why you don't find low #d cards with a price. Even a "REAL" 1/1 being sold on eBay, Beckett will report this item in it's magizine sometimes. And even though it's the "ONLY" one. And it sold for a price. Beckett did not post the actual book price on it, due to what these guys have been saying. Your card is only worth as much as what someone is willing to pay for it.

I personally think the 1/1 on a card with 25 different other serial #'d cards is a crock. Everyone should state, "IN MY OPINION" it is a 1/1....not what the card states. That's why as card buyers get smart...they don't buy these stupid 1/1. Espically when I'm looking on eBay and someone states that it's a "1/1" and I look and it's 16/25 but it's Joe Montana's jersey #. I just basically skip the auction and ignore it just because you had mistated some things in print, when in fact, it wasn't a REAL 1/1. And who knows, the buyer might lie about other things.

Now about premiums, rarely do I see a card get more than book value UNLESS it's a PSA 10 or BGS 9.5 or 10. Even some 9's are getting about or more than Beckett Book Value. True Fact. Go ahead and look. Espically at the 86-87 Fleers, that where commons are drawing 100 dollars a pop. So there is no "premium" on a card. Unless the buyer feels that way. Remember, the buyer's control the market.

I had a Rocco Baldelli I sold 3 weeks ago under my other name. And I sold it for $12.00. It was 6/10. It came from a $100 dollar pack of UD Ultimate. So there could be all kinds of factor for a card's pricing. I don't know. I overestimated my card and it undersold. While I sold a 1938 Churchman's Jack Johnson, I paid 5 bucks for the card, for $25.00 dollars. Which I underestimated. So what does that tell you? That the buyers or whoever looks at the card, determines your card's value!

By the way, I think it's a "CROCK" to list a card as a RARE 1/1 when it doesn't state that on the card. And if it is stated like that, you should always list "IN MY OPINION" on your ebay auction. Because, if they are like me, they will consider you a "liar" and skip pass your auction, when in fact....had you stated the card, as to what it was....I might of made a bid...because the nature of the low #'s.

Exactly....because I can put a sharpie on a card and say it's a 1/1. There's nothing to state...that it's a genuine 1/1 but a "OPINION" of a 1/1. And alot of people....over value their cards by "claiming" that it is a 1/1. Only crazy people would pay a premium for a card with the player or certain numbered card that is serial #'d to that extent. So here are a couple of "KNOWN FACTS" of these words:

    Gen-u-ine:

    1. Actually possessing the alleged or apparent attribute or character: genuine leather.
    2. Not spurious or counterfeit; authentic
    3. Free from hypocrisy or dishonesty; sincere

    Opinion:

    1. A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof
    2. A judgment or estimation of the merit of a person or thing

So whoever posted this, read these 2 definitions before you "quote" something and give an opinion on something, that is dishonest. Because how can something be a 1/1 when it "clearly" states 1/25.

This is why i would much rather do a transaction in person. not only do you know exactley what you are getting but you get it right away. I think if enough people start putting there foot down at stop buying into crap like this it would stop. to bad alot a kids get burned. also nothing personal to the person who originally posted just touched on a sore subject. i know it is easy to get caught up with wrong info , hope this steers you right. also hope it does not keep you from coming back.

Well, that is true that these kids are getting ripped off. When the #'d cards, while it was short, came...I got fooled into it about sometime later, when someone "misrepresented" a card on ebay. So I really feel you on this. I was heated to find out that the card was REALLY not a 1/1. So whoever posted this, PLEASE STATE....THAT THIS IS YOUR "OPINION".
