Young Guns
I was trying to get the whole 09-10 YG set but now Im thinking, why? ONly a few will ever even be regulars in the show. So now that im planning on getting rid of them Im wondering whats the best way. Trade em, sell individually(A huge time investment) or make a big lot for all the lesser knowns and sell the top end guys seperatly. Any comments will be most appreciated.

If you have the entire set, sell/trade the entire set - probably better to sell. You won't get much of a return with the scrubs when the stars are gone. Just my opinion.

I've seen a couple of sellers just list the 100 cards in order and they seem to make out pretty well. It allows people who are trying to complete the set to pick up the random ones they need and take advantage of the combined shipping. the big name ones will sell regardless but IMO if you sell them individually you will maximize your profit. Now whether it is the most efficient use of your time is a different story lol.

Id probably sell all the big names (Duchene, Tavares, Myers) and then sell off the rest as a lot. I like to leave a few decent names in the lot though cause it can go a long way in selling the "scrub" guys

Problem with lots is that the only person who's going to buy a bulk lot of YG commons is someone who wants to do the set. You're not going to get many buyers looking to grab 25+ series 1 commons in one swoop. Not right now. Series 2 maybe, but not series 1.
You'll get your best return doing singles.

Something I have always found is no matter the player, people are always collecting YGs. Therefore, even the common YGs are relatively easy to trade. It might take a few months or a year until all of the commons are traded, but it happens on a regular basis that people are either trying to finish their set or want to go back and do all the YGs from 2005 or even before that.

Heck from series 1, what kind of value would you expect from a lot or a complete set? But if you sell the duchene, tavares, myers, kane, hedman separately, that will come close to the set sale value or at least a large portion. Then add in the rest of the commons selling for a buck or two, and you have an extra 75ish dollars. These are complete estimates but you see what I'm saying. I recently put together the YGs from the last 5 years and sellers with the cards in individual listings were a blessing to me. $20 for a lot of 10-15ygs of my choosing to fill out my set was awesome.

Thanks for the help guys. I think Ill seperate the big names and lot up the rest in 10 or 15 card lots, trying to keep a decent guy in each one.
