Icehawks fold after owners 'drained'
Frank Kinney said the passion for the Port Huron Icehawks never faded in the Kinney Management Group.
However, what did fade was the "tolerance for the losses."
The drain on team owner Larry Kinney's parent company, Datapak, apparently was too great.
Citing that as the major reason, the Icehawks made things official Wednesday, releasing a statement saying the team would be dissolved.
The team played for three seasons in the International Hockey League, making it as far as triple overtime in Game 7 of the Turner Cup Finals in its first season.
