    Raymond Parks passes away

    The first NASCAR championship owner and last living member of the group that formed NASCAR passed away today.

    Raymond Parks was instrumental in the forming of NASCAR and advised Bill France on many issues.

    Raymonda was also at the battle of the bulge and one of the original moonshiners of NASCAR. He also served time in federal prison for it.

    He made it to the NASCAR hall of fame for the induction ceremony but will not get to be there when hes inducted. He did get to see a display dedicated to him there.
