Ebay Pros, I need your advice!

I recently bought a 09-10 BAP Auto parallel /10 of Corey Perry for my PC. I received it today, however looking at it in the top loader, it was clearly warped. When I took it out of the top loader and penny sleeve the card was shown to be badly warped.

There is no evidence of wear on the envelope to suggest it had been folded by postal employees. I've already contacted the seller but I'm not sure what to do in this case.

There was no mention of any defects or damage on the card in the auction description. The seller has over 1900 feedback with a 99.9% feedback rate.

I checked his feedback, and the one negative goes like this

"The card was not mind and the corners were not sharp and I was not happy at all"

Underneath, he replied with: "Wow what a ™™™™™™....no email, no request for refund just negative feedback thx"

Just wondering what would be a good suggestion for this. It'll be tough for me to get my hands on another of these cards easily.

I'd just email him and mention to him the card came alittle damaged. Mention to him that the bubble envelope wasn't ripped or squished at all and there were no signs of mistreatment from the post office. If you could just give me a refund or maybe you'd be happy with some sort of money back and keep the card, that'd be up to you. Alittle good conversation goes a long way nowadays. See how that goes and if not file a claim and mention to paypal the card came damaged and you didn't have any luck with the seller....

I so appreciate good eBay sellers. Wish they came around more often. I just bought four Avalanche patches for jerseys from a seller. Two of them were correct and two weren't. It really wasn't the sellers fault, the company that makes them changed the pattern for whatever reason. I offered to take pictures to show why I wanted to return the two that were off. He said no need to take pics, asked me to return them, and then refunded my money for the two with pretty much no questions asked. Very cool.

Good to know there are good sellers out there.

being a good buyer is as important as being a good seller. you should offer to mail him the card back since he gave the refund. the seller may have deemed the situation not worth fighting but it would still be nice, as a seller, to know the buyer was honest and not simply trying to get their money back.

he might tell you to keep it again anyway but at least you would've offered to send it back.

I agree....GIVING you a free card of that sort does not make him a good seller...it makes him a scared seller....and as said, felt not worth the fight and negative sure to come...but a good seller would have offered to work something out with you...my expectation is that card put under a stack of cards for a few months will no longer be warped....also could be from change in humidity... You may have gotten over here but remember karma is a strict task master...

Offer to pay half and then in full later if the warping goes away....(it will...)
