I don't think sending an item that requires a special pen, for example silver, is wise since most guys just have a black or blue sharpie laying around that they use and don't really care to find a marker that makes your item look good. With that being said, I'd go with the white backgrounds like on the second Anderson.

sometimes if i send something like that i mail a silver sharpie with it.
