    Scott Neidermayer Retires

One of the game's all-time great defencemen. A sure-fire first-ballot HOF'er just like Rob Blake.

lets see if he stayed retired, didn't he retire one or two years ago just to sign mid-season with the Ducks again?

I believe this will be Scott's last hurrah. He got to win the Cup with his brother, and landed one more Olympic Gold Medal to add to his already well stocked trophy case. The man is a complete class act, and amazing player. The NHL will be a lesser league without him.

    - Memorial Cup
    - Memorial Cup MVP
    - World Junior Gold Medal
    - 5 Time NHL All Star
    - Norris Trophy
    - Conn Smythe
    - World Championship Gold
    - World Cup Championship
    - 2 Olympic Gold Medals
    - 4 Stanley Cups

Won pretty much everything there is to win. A shame there's so few replies in this thread. Amazing player.

And another great career comes to an end. Scott was a winner at every level and was always a class act. It's a shame to see him go and it's also a shame he couldn't wait until our Free Agent contest began....haha just kidding.

If only more players would be as classy. I was glad to see him stick around for the Olympics to teach Canada's young D a thing or two. Hopefully Doughty, Keith, and others paid close attention.
