BGS Value Question?
If you get a card graded 9.5 would the value increase more than its BV? How does this work?

It may a little, but it all depends on the card, player, and type of card.

So what is the benefit on having a card ungraded compared to a card that is graded by BGS or PSA? There should be a rule if cards are graded, the value is worth a lot than BV because not all cards that come in packs are in mint condition. Is it just me but having cards graded by BGS could be a possible scam?

There are ALOT of people that won't touch anything by BGS (reference all the Strasburg threads) - I personally put zero premium on anything BGS or PSA grades unless it is a card that is faked alot (Jordan RC) or it is at least 15+ years old.
I have no idea why people think getting a BGS 9.5 on a new card is a good idea or is going to turn some huge profit - and the hobby, based on eBay sales, is finally catching up to this fact. You can buy BGS 9.5's of many many cards, in all sports, for within 10-25% of the value of a raw card. There are exceptions but generally that is the case.
Color me partial - but I think graded cards are such a waste. If you spend any $$ in this hobby you should know how to judge the condition of your own items. I only would buy graded to authenticate an item that can be faked.

I had cards graded once since I had 5 free grading with beckett. One of the cards was a Wes Welker Contenders Auto RC. That was in '07 during the pats almost perfect season (minus the SB).....Welker was on firs that season
Anyway I believe the raw ungraded bv was $100, they were selling pretty close to that on ebay.....
My BGS Welker came back a 9.5
I listed it on ebay for $250 or BO....someone hit the BIN for $250!!!!! within the first day.
Some cards all depends like I stated on the type of card, and you have to sell at the right time.

This thread is obviously trying to justify your asking price of $375 on a Lincecum Bowman Chrome RC Auto BGS 9.5
Why you have to start a new thread - when I've clearly shown you multiple, not one, but multiple auctions that sell in the $220 range - and there are multiple, again not one, but multiple auctions currently on eBay with Buy It Now's for way under $375 is beyond me.
You're just trying to get someone to agree with you - when it's clearly been shown what the market value of your card currently is.

Yeah yeah I love you too. How does Beckett determine BV on card and know when a players value goes up or down? In the off season there is no movement on players value and why is that? Card should be like the stock market, they go because?????? What is the reasoning behind all this? It seems like Beckett is almost like a scam to the market because prices do not fluctuate that much.
