    Drooling over a Vette

I haven't had a toy car for a while ... just thought i would vent. I found a BEAUTIFUL 99 C5 Vette with a 408 forged motor, dual nitrous setup, etc. Good to go - for 15k. Man - hard to say no to that!

1980 Vette is the shizz. Never liked the Post-'83 body style.

The C5's are nice looking cars, but very unreliable. Friend was at the house with one and it had a problem with the anti-theft system. Car would not steer (locked) and they had to send a wrecker for it. It was not even 1-year old yet. A co-worker had one as well, and it stayed in the shop more than on the road. Both guys sold them within a short time of buying them. Hope you have better luck with yours.

I'm a Mopar nut myself, but I love the C4 body style. My personal favorite too! I'd LOVE a 1990- 1995 ZR1 with that DOHC 350. I never did understand why they never developed that motor any further.....
As for the C5's, well, I don't care for them but that's just my two pennies. A stroked 408 with NOS would be extremely fun as long as the bores aren't too thin and prone to cracking (IE, if it's an aftermarket block should be just fine! Using a standard 400 block with a 350 crank for the 383 stroker is a dangerous game!)
