Worst thing you said during an IP?
I have had some wonderful IP chances in my life and even had some guys talk sports a little with me during those times. I will never forget talking one on one with guys like George Gervin, George Karl, Carlos Bearga, Drew Brees and many more sports stars. I will admit that I was at my worst when a certain player who I felt selected the wrong professional sport was signing for me. Drew Hensen who was great college QB at Michigan and at the time a AAA baseball player was signing for a few fans after a game in Indianapolis. He signed a few cards for me and I congratulated him on being selected by the Texans in the draft that day. He responded to me that he was a baseball player. I quickly replied the first thing that came to mind. Yeah, I have seen you try to hit a curve! He did not respond, but why in the world did I take a shot at a player who was just nice enough to sign a few autographs for fans after a game. I owe him a thank you and an apology! We sometimes will look down on a player who is having a bad day and blows off fans, but it is moments like that where fans push players away. I made a stupid statement and I am sure that I am not the only one who has done something that silly in their autographing past.
Would anyone care to share where they said something really stupid during an IP attempt?
I will be honest enough to tell you I have seen someone ask a player who was white as snow, if he was Alphonso Soriano after a AAA game! Let's here your story! BTW, I was not the person with the Soriano question.

Many moons ago....
I mistook Fernando Rodney for Dmitri Young. Honest mistake and I did apologize.

Right when the JA Happ for Roy Halladay rumors were peaking in 2009, I mistook JA Happ for Ryan Madson and called him Mr. Madson (they do look kind of alike- look it up). My cousin who I was with was like "dude he probably went into the clubhouse thinking man screw this town, they dont even know who I am!"

Well, it wasn't anything I said but it was kind of funny. Matt Morris and Omar Vizquel were signing. I had a card held out for Omar to sign, but Morris grabbed it. Signed it, then said, "Kid, this isn't me." *Little kid stands there blankly not sure what to do* I ended up getting it signed by Vizquel later on, but it came out faded because I had to wipe the original signature off with spit.

I mistakenly shouted "Kendrick, could you sign?" at Glen Davis, since he had a hat and plastic glasses on, as he was getting on the bus to the game. His response was a terse, "Do I look like Kendrick?". I apologize to him, but told him I still wanted Kendrick's autograph instead, knowing that Glen wasn't going to sign anyways.

My IP opportunities have been little to none, but when I got Ryne Sandberg at the I-Cubs game last summer, we were the third in line or so, two people ahead of us had jerseys to get signed with paint pens, and we two blue Sharpies. After he signed for my brother, cousin, and then me, I shook his hand quickly and thanked him and he asked he could keep the Sharpie, for some reason I hesitated and said "No" Half a second later I said "Oh, sorry, you keep it, I didn't mean to say no". I was a little star struck and I was turning around when he asked, I guess I didn't expect him to say anything else to me.

I told Ben Tate "thanks for the fantasy points" after the Tennessee game last season. That was pretty awkward.
When I was a kid my family and I went out for dinner at a local restaurant and the Tampa Bay Storm showed up and I said that they don't play real football to one of the players.
