I have to admit that I am a little surprised at how much pyatt is making. He seemed like a very affective player last season. Well, whenever I listened/watched the Canadiens play, he always seemed like he was all over the ice. I thought he would be making at least 1 million.

They did offer more money on a 2-way contract but he took less (when's the last time you heard that?) for a 1-way contract. He was good but a marginal player such as him can just as easily be replaced by any of the Habs' other young talents. I reckon that if he builds on last year's play he'll end up being rewarded with a better deal next year.
