    2001 Pre-Parkie Autographs

    Hey everyone-

I have a question about an apparently unreleased set of Pre-Parkies that was released in 2001. On eBay, seller Doug Laurie sells autographed versions of these cards of some old timers (and some deceased). I was wondering what the story was on this set? Is it legit? Is the seller legit?

I can't seem to find much info and was hoping someone could shed some light on the matter. If they are legit, it would go a long way in my hard-signed autos of HOFer collection.

    Cheers!

    If you mean these:

Then they are legit. Back in the 90's, Dr. Brian Price of ITG wanted to do a Parkhurst set. He started designing cards and collecting autographs. The set fell through and he sold some (back door) and others were re-used.

Here's that same auto re-slabbed into a 04-05 Ultimate card:

You can also find them as cut autos in other ITG sets. I can't find any to show you right now though, but they exist.

But yup, they are legit, but not officially released except as slabbed cards.

    Cheers,
    reoddai
