Hurricane Season
Every hurricane season brings back the nightmares of the multiple category 4/5 hurricanes I endured in South Florida in 2004 and 2005... By FAR the most terrifying nights of my life.
You don't know real fear until you are trapped in a pitch black closet with no power, smothered with blankets for protection, stone cold and shivering from nervousness, listening to houses, trees and any structures in the hurricane's path being obliterated, hearing the wind screaming deafeningly and shaking from the thunder's powerful roar which resembles an ongoing earthquake. All of this mashed together with the rain pelting down on what is left of the roof above you to raise the question, "Will I survive to see tomorrow?."
Unbelieveable memories.
May the world be spared this hurricane season.

My parents were in punta gorda when charlie made landfall and they said it was the scariest thing they ever went through. Needless to say they moved out of FL about 9 months later.

Amen brother ... I'm on the nature coast of Florida, about 40 miles north of the Tampa Bay area and my area has been spared then past few years ... it's only a matter of time before something comes our way. I just hope that people take caution and leave when they are told to leave.
It's always a tough 6 months but if people just pay attention and get the things they would need ahead of time and follow instructions then everything can go smooth!
Prayers are with anyone that has ever or will ever go through a Hurricane.
