Vacations: where are you going?

Okay, this thread kind of serves two purposes. One, to talk about places we're going on vacation, and two, so I can solicit ideas on what to do on mine, lol.

In September, I'm going up to Minnesota for about a week. It's job related, but should have some down time as well. I'll be in Blaine for the North American Hockey League's Minnesota Showcase. Not sure what my schedule will be yet, but last year I had to call 8 games on internet TV/Radio, and this year it may be even more. I know it will be at least 4. But I will still have some downtime to get out and about. Planning on spending a day at the Mall of America. Any other must-see attractions for someone on a limited time frame? It's my fifth year going up and the third that I'll actually be able to get out and about and see things.

Then in December it's off to Cleveland to see my dad (haven't seen him in three years now). Should have more time to do things. This is the big area where I'm looking for advice on things to see. Besides the RRHOF at least, been there twice already. Any must-visit restaurants, anything like that, as even when I lived near Cleveland growing up, I didn't get into the city much and never got further west than West 6th or so.

Finally in April, Portland, OR to see my mom. Definitely will be hitting up Salvador Molly's to try the habanero fritters. Anything else I need to check out?

Vegas BABY!!

1st week in Novemeber, me and the wife and 2 other couples are hitting Sin City for my wifes 40th. Should be a freakin blast!!!

Anyone in the Vegas area with some connectinos! PM me ... I've got some questions for you!!

I hit Boston for a few days last week and will have another long weekend to chicago in july or august. I have my yearly salmon fishing trip to Michigan in October and a trip to Wisconsin for my brothers wedding. I'm also hitting Vegas (first time) in early November for a friend's 40th birthday... no not JeRmZ's wife's birthday. lol

H MF - If I'm not mistaken, there's a great art institute and great zoo near the Mall of America. If you're on a particularly limited time frame, though, I'm not sure how much of that you'll even be able to see if you want to check out either...

I'll be visiting Springfield, MO for Independence Day weekend and possibly Minnesota for Thanksgiving depending on how my mom's health is holding up.
