yea but you have to look at it lke this.
if he retired tomorrow, would he make it to the hall? no.
If he suddenly nosedived in his career, would ha make it? no.

A guy like say, Thome, if he never played again would make it.
If Arod never played again, he'd make it.
If Pujols never played again, he might make it.
    See what I mean.

yeah, that's what i mean by "sure fire".

I dont think Pujols Would make it, if he retired today, i think he needs 3-4 more good seasons. Id like him to get 500 Homers and 1500+ RbI's to be a sure fire.

Id say Jeff Kent is a sure fire, hes probably going to go down as the best second basemen ever to play.

Id think Omar Vizquel has a shot,

    Reason why

Him and Ozzie were pretty much the same player

Ozzie .262 AVG HR 28 RBI 793 Gold Gloves 13
Vizquel .272 AVG 79 Homers 920 RBI and close to 3000k hits (2735) 11 Gold Gloves

Kent and Vizquel don’t get as much Praise as they deserve,

Trevor Hoffman. The HOF doesn't have many closers but the top 2 all time should be in there. I loaded up on PSA 10 Palmeiro rookie cards thinking he would be a surefire inductee. The steroid issue might not have kept him out but the finger wagging denial in front of congress then testing positive the next week will.

Jack Morris, McGwire I think will begin to win some people over as hitting coach, Petitte, and there are a bunch of current managers that will be HOFers
