    Welcome home gift

Just want your opinion on what I should get my significant other as a welcom home gift. Been away for 6 months and now I have between 1500 and 2000 canadian to purchace some major wax. Im looking at getting a case of ultimate then using the rest for ebay singles. What would you all get. The choices are below.

1: Case UD ultimate 209-10 and then ebay singles
2: Random boxes of spgu 2008-09, 09-10, ITG suplative 2010, the cup
3: A case of ITG heroes n prospects and a box of suplative and the cup
    4. Just random boxes.

Also he does not like base cards. Hence the reason you dont see any SPA. He loves that set but just to many base in a box. Only exception in ITG stuff like heroes and prospects.

    Hi Robin,

Welcome on SCF, hope you will drop by again :)

Do you know what he collects mainly? Could be worth checking the different checklists to see which have more of the stuff he likes.

I think you're on the right track with The Cup and Superlative though, personally, I prefer the Cup for the design of the cards and just how thoroughly awesome they look. A case of Ultimate could also be a sweet gift with added ebay singles he wants. I'd stick to the high end rather than SPGU and stuff like that.

    Hope that helps :)

wait for the cup to come out and drop it all on that. Imagine pulling a duchene or tavares cup auto patch rc /99, it will be like winning the lottery!

Option 3 is what i would do. The H&P cases usually have 7-9 cards that are /10 or less. Superlative was very good to me and the cup is always pretty good.

buy him the ultimate case...and then buy two tickets to an NHL hockey game for next season, that is if you live in a city with a hockey team. opening a box of cards is not as fun as going to an actual hockey game....all is in my own opinion. thanks for reading.

If your significant other has a player that he/she loves to collect, then I suggest investing in singles only. If not, then I would go for a case of Ultimate Collection, Black, or Cup.
