It is a bit slow but the more you get going the better it get's. If you need any pointers feel free to contact me in game at JeRmZ1 ... if you get your city built up over a 1000 points I can invite you into our alliance "The Oracle of Pythea" we are a large and dominating alliance right now and only getting bigger.

I tried here at home but my computer is so old it won't let me click on the register button. I'm not sure it's something I would want to do at work, where I have better access.
Is it a time consuming game?

It is a time consuming game in a sense, like I told OnePimpTiger ... you can go in build up some stuff log out and come back later and continue the process. It's not like you have to be logged in at all times.
The higher the levels you get the longer it takes to build up your buildings and infrastructure, the higher your building levels get the faster you build troops and prepare for war!!

Pretty much like Civ ... only browser based and not turn based.
You build up resources (Wood/Rock/Silver) in order to build buidlings larger such as your senate, farm, warehouse, barracks, Harbor etc. and then you build up troops and a naval fleet and then you can research different things all leading to conquering other cities and so on ...
