Definitely boot up in Safe Mode to run the necessary programs you have. There are a few programs out there that could help you. Spybot Search & Destroy is a great program that will find something for you. A free, and really good Anti-virus is Avira. I run it all the time and it works great. The other program that runs great is Lavasoft Ad-Aware, just install it and run it. One other program that you can keep running in the background at all times is called A-Squared, very powerful program.

wont start in either of the 3 different safe modes. tried the last known good configuration but just went to the same virus. Wonder why my guest account works perfect but im not suprised! I might just call a pc repair tech to come over unless someone can steer me in the right direction soon

well bud....do you have the original disks that came with the computer??? if so all you have to do to reformat the hard drive "fresh start" but remember anything you dont have backed up elsewhere will be lost....put the original start up disk in the cdrom when prompted select boot from cd...and you will have to select what to reinstall on the hard drive....a bit time consuming but even a novice can do this....and will save you alot of money.....i wouldnt suggest this unless ive done it myself

If you don't want to lose your data run to a store and pickup some CD's/DVD's if you have a burner on your system. Spending a couple bucks now can save you a lot of hassle in trying to find your data again.
