Indians-Rangers game stopped as fan falls from the 2nd deck

All i've been hearing on the radio is he had his back to the rail

idk thats straight off espn but it could be wrong

Who knows really at this point, that rail was like 46 inches though i think, i dont see him reaching over that far

what does that have to do with any thing, he may not have had any beers, and just got a little excited and reached over to get a foul ball. it is a freak accident

Like I said Im glad he is ok. If he had alot to drink it could have alot to do with it. I didnt say its his fault or anything like that. Even if he had been drinking it still was an accident. A fan in Atlanta a few years ago died at Turner Field after the game as he was leaving. If I remeber correct he had been drinking and fell over a a rail also.

Drinking or not? Drunk or not? Does he really deserve to be seriously injured or even dead? Is he the only person to ever be drunk at a baseball game or any game for that matter? He was probably trying to catch a ball just like any of us would, but he went a little too far and got hurt.

The news station I saw today said that he is "fine" and talking to friends and family. It's a miracle really, IMO. Still in hospital the last I heard.

You know its called personal accountability this isnt the Rangers faults, although they'll probably get a lawsuit against them. Its the guys fault, I'm glad he's OK, but its his fault for putting his life at risk for a foul ball, let him go buy a baseball for $10 instead of going over the railing

Yes, the guy made a bad decision and suffered consequences. The team is in a tough spot too because they do have to take reasonable steps to ensure fan safety but not construct the railing so that it obstructs the view of (most) fans.

sure this is true but it's beside the fact. he's lucky to be alive. things happen. Sure he's personally accountable. But i'm sure he's not the only person this could have happened to. People get caught up in the moment. If a ball was hit in the same spot , and another person in this situation, it very well could have happened to them.

I'm one who wont make excuses for the lack of judgement from someone not thinking, if he would've died it would've been his own fault in my opinion, the Rangers can only make the rail so high before it takes away from people being able to see the game without the railing being a distraction

If this had been a family member of yours, i'm sure you wouldn't feel the same.

I'm not saying you should be suing the rangers or blaming anyone, but the guy made a mistake in this situation. If you've ever had a foul ball hit to you, you know its exciting. This guy, caught up in the moment just went a little too far.
I mean the way your portrayin this, you'd think he got hurt tryin to rob someone..

Everyone here feels bad for the guy and we are all happy he is ok. This is his own fault though. Nobody pushed this guy. Last season a man holding a baby caught a foul ball at a MLB game and people went nuts about how stupid he was. He got "caught up in the moment" of a foul ball hit in his direction but it didnt change the fact that he had a lapse in judgement and endangered his child.
