    Very rare. 1 per 12boxes i think.

Didnt pull the best player...but if you can find some1 who collects him, you can get some money.

I would tell you to buy box(es) of Heroes and Prospects and Between the Pipes from either of the last two years. Three hits per box and a chance to pull some huge short printed cards.

YES, Between the Pipes and Heroes and Prospects. See if you can talk your wife into one of the following:

    Case of 09-10 BTP
    Case of 09-10 H&P
    Case of 09-10 Ultmiate Collection

Nice hit with the Liles. As The Germinator said, if you can find someone who needs it for their PC, you'll probably get a pretty penny for it.

    Again, welcome!

Personally I'm a big fan of UD1 and UD2 from year to year. Its relatively inexpensive, you get a decent shot of getting a good young gun or two, plus there is added value in Jerseys, rookie jerseys, and autos. Great product!

Those are a tough pull. Don't know the odds off-hand but they're long.

Thanks again everyone for the responses!!! In one of my 08/09 Black Diamond boxes I pulled a John-Michael Liles Onyx Quad Jersey numbered to 10. How rare is that?[/QUOTE]

    Welcome to the hobby :)

SCF is THE best site on the Internet. I am a new collector as well, and just got started last year, and trust me...I spend about $30 a month, and I still have a blast collecting.

The best boxes to buy IMO are not The Cup, simply because it is not much fun opening up one pack, and because most of the time, you do not get Crosby or Ovie cards. If you don't get the big stars, you will pretty much think that the break was a bust. And that you just spent hundreds of bucks for nothing. Just my way of thinking. Others may think differently.

I would buy a box of UD series 1 or 2 just because if you don't get anything nice hits, then at least you won't have spent hundreds of dollars like you would if you bought The Cup.

Thanks for the responses! I am looking at getting jersey/autograph/memorabilia and perhaps the chance for a home run pull every once in a while. My favourite players are Shea Weber and Patrick Hornqvist (yes...I am a Preds fan). I started collecting some of Stamkos as well. I am not a set builder. I hope this helps. My wife gave me a budget of $200/mth so there is potential of buying some higher priced boxes, especially since I control our budget. :)

i just sold a nice Hornqvist lot you probably would have liked...
my brother paid $109 for Ultimate collection and pullled some pretty nice cards
