New Guy
Hey everybody my name's David and I'm a cardboard-aholic.....wait, wrong thread? Anyway (and yes unfortunatly that's my attempt ant humor and no it doesn't get any better, sorry!) Just wanted to say hey to everyone. I don't usually join forums but this place seems pretty awesome!
A little bit about me:
My name is David and at 22, newly graduated (from the University of Alabama - Roll Tide!), and newly married, I picked the WORST time financially to get back into card collecting! I haven't really decided what I'm after yet collection-wise, but my wife and I are HUGE Phillies fans so I guess that's as good of a place as any for team-building. I used to be the biggest Bulls fan but I haven't collected anything basketball since Michael Jordan left (the second time, pre-Wizards).
One of the reasons I joined here was to actually gain some insight on the hobby of prospecting baseball cards, so if anybody has any information they'd be willing to share with me I would be increadibly appreciative! With my newfound understanding of the little things that make baseball so exciting (actual strategy, signs, minor league stuff) combined with the fact my brother-in-law plays for the University of Auburn, I've come to love baseball and I'm becoming obsessed with prospecting. The only problem is I haven't really learned how to spot the prospects without somebody telling me first and by then I've missedout on the good cards.
Well thanks to all in advance for any advice and patience with a newbie!
David T.

Hi there David,
Welcome to SCF. You’ve just joined THE best sports card community on the internet! SCF is a great place to enhance your sports card knowledge, make friends, and make some great trades to expand your collection. Lot's of great people here. If you post your questions regarding prospecting in the baseball forums you may get some real insights.
As far as your addiction, well it beats drinking heavy but either way the first step is admitting you have a problem. The second step is getting a box of cards!
Don't forget to check out this thread for "newbies" and be sure to complete your profile. Let me or any other staff member know if you have any specific questions.
Once you've posted 10 times you'll see links in everyone's signature and be able to view traders and PC items too.
So glad you made it!
Kevin
