Frozen in time: Seniors take to the hockey rink
HOUSTON — They no longer skate with the speed and power of their youth, a point Dan Downey made to his 86-year-old mother last year when she observed: “Danny, you are not skating very hard.”
“Mom, I'm 58 years old, for God's sake,” answered Downey, founder of a seniors hockey league that brings together 50- and 60-somethings still passionate about the rough and tough game they loved as youngsters growing up in Canada or the Upper Midwest.
More than 100 graying Texans take part in the year-round league, playing every Thursday night at the Sugar Land Ice & Sports Center.

I saw this article. A friend of mine had a link to it on her Facebook. As a hockey player in Houston, I think this is great. :)
