I think the Heat have spent $56-$57 million of the cap space with the addition of Wade/Lebron/Bosh (roughly $45 million) Chalmers/Haslem/Miller/Z (roughly $11 million)
Leaving around $2 million left to spend on 5 more players. And since they had cap space heading into free agency, i don't think they are allowed to go over cap.
This part is correct
I had Wade/Bosh/LeBron at over 45 million (at 51) so there is where the money for Mike Miller comes in.
That makes sense.

Once there cap space is gone which it is with Haslem and Mike Miller signed
Miami has to get the rest of the guys at LeagueMinimum which is $1.35 million for players who have 10 years in the NBA
Miami can offer league minimum to as many players even without cap space

Exactly right - basically the team is set except for league minimum players and then the veteran league minimum (like Z took)

I think you can sign Chalmers and Haslem over the cap since they are with the team already last year. Just like Wade, I think Miami can sign him using over the cap.

hate to see him go, Z has been a long time favorite of mine at cleveland, it was great to see him overcome his injuries and produce, he's not as good as he was 5 years ago, but he and the big 3 can run the pick and pop all day, lebron and Z did it very well at cleveland, guess i'll pull for the heat now, Z deserves a ring, hate to see him leave, but hopefully he wins, had a feeling lebron might make a call to him

I think it's sad that the NBA has come to this. It's about who has the money now..... The love for the game that existed just under 20 years ago isn't there any more. It's about what you can put in my pocket.
You have teams that struggle every year like the Clippers, Grizzlies, Raptors that can't shake a stick at a player like Lebron, and then you have teams like the Celtics, Lakers, and now the Heat who are buying up all the talent.
In just a few years there won't be any use for an All Star Game... you'll just get to see it in the Finals....
And I'm just going out on a personal limb here, but I think that the Heat are going to implode with all the talent they have. Do you honestly think that all of the guys they have can play cohesively as a team without having their egos hurt?

They showed they can play together in the Olympics plus there all good friends so im sure theyre gonna put in the extra work to make it happen
The hea t wont get any major players now its gonna be people that will play for a million bux and under for the chance at a ring

i don't think it's about money, it's about winning, haslem took $10 million dollars less to stay with the heat and derek fisher did the same thing and Z could make more then 1.35 million if he wanted

I think Haslem and big Z are leeching more than winning. Fisher is a key player for Lakers, but not those players in Miami.

Man, it's funny reading the comments on cleveland.com about this story vs. the Lebron story. The majority of fan are wishing the best for him.
