Huge Favor of all fellow football collectors!

Didn't know exactly where to post this so I put it here, and if one of the mods could move it to the proper area I would appreciate it.

A couple nights ago I was driving home from work in my truck, and the water pump went out causing my truck to overheat. I pulled it over on a oil well location and parked it in their drive. Some nice gentleman picked me up and took me 30 minutes out of his way to take me home. So I had to use my wife's van to drive back to work, and drove by my truck twice yesterday, to work then back home, and it hadn't been bothered. I had a big tote full of football, basketball, and a few baseball cards in a bunch of different smaller boxes. The cards in the tote also contained 99% of my pc Colts collection. I usually carry the cards to work with me so I can trade while working away from home. Well sometime between 4pm yesterday and 8:30 am this morning my truck had the driver side window smashed in, and my tote of ball cards stolen from it. The Sheriffs Dept came out and took my statement, took pictures, and dusted for finger prints, which none were found. I find that a little strange because after having this truck 5-6 yrs, at least my prints should be on it. Well after the sheriff left I drove in town to ask the pawn shops to keep an eye out. One of the pawn shops just might be a savior to me, but I'm not holding my breath. A 15-16 year old kid came into the shop yesterday and asked if they bought ball cards, which the broker stated they didn't. The sheriff who came out said he thinks that someone could have scoped out my truck yesterday, then proceeded to smash the window of my truck, which was already probably going to cost me a "few" bucks to have it towed and repaired.

What I am asking a favor for, is from people who have seen my bucket, and know the cards I have, is if you are a buyer or seller on Ebay to please keep an eye out if you could for a huge lot of cards being sold from someone in Texas, and they look like they could be my cards. The sheriff said they would try to keep an eye out for them online. The investigators are supposed to be contacting me tomorrow or Monday to get the link for my photobucket. So any help anyone could give would be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks, James

The best bet is to list the serial numbers of anything you had, that way we can look out for them. This actually worked once when I was working for a card shop. A guy stole a card, but we not only had a picture of it, it displayed the serial number. A day later, the card turned up on ebay. Needless to say, the police got involved and gave the guy a choice to return everything or get arrested because we had proof based on the picture of the serial number. Turned out he stole quite a bit of stuff from the shop, and got everything back. I don't know how the dealer handled it or actually got the stuff back, but it was there a week later.

If you have serial numbers of specific cards, post them here, especially if you have picture proof. It will be easier for all of us to find this stuff if it turns up, and, hopefully, get everything back to you.

Thanks for the thoughts and best wishes guys. Monticello only 2 cards that I can think of right off the top of my head are; 1) an 09 Press Pass Fusion Paul Molitor Gold auto #'d 4/10 with the inscription "Go Gophers" then he signed his initials (P.M.) underneath it. 2) An 08 UD Premier (I'll have to check the bucket for the gu'd insert name) Peyton Manning triple gu'd inside the #18. It was #'d 18/18. I have a list somewhere of some of the other #'d autos and gu'd. Plus will search all my threads because I believe I posted a few of the #'s on them also. I'm going to go through it all in the morning to see what kind of list I can come up with. I'm really hoping the kid at the pawn shop yesterday wasn't just a coincidence. And the guy said he will pull up the tape so he can show the SD who the kid was. Again thanks yall for all the thoughts and well wishes, and for any help you may give if any of this shows up on Ebay.

    Thanks a million,
    James
