    Bob Feller TTM Return Problem

Hey everyone, I have a little problem. I made a custom card to send Bob Feller, and it's a little thick. I sent Bob $10 to sign 2 cards, including the custom. The non custom returned successfully while the custom has a nasty crease in the middle and while attempting to fix the card I smudged the card with a Sharpie accidentally and it looks like a complete disaster. Do you think if I sent him it again, but in like a bubble mailer, he would sign again? Thanks

yeah, most likely- although you can try writing him and explaining what happened. he might resign for you. However, having met Feller several times, Im not sure how lucky you will be on that front. Hes not a pleasant man, and is very driven by making money at this point in his life

Yeah, I do have a new letter written explaining what happened, and I also will probably include a picture of the card for proof. I just hope he can sign again. Thanks for the help

While the TTM hobby is about the fan - celebrity/athlete interaction, in Feller's case it seems clear that he uses it as a vehicle to generate money. For Feller, TTM is a business. Is there a problem with this? I don't think so...especially for his fair prices. In your case you attempted to pay for his "product" and have been left a dissatisfied customer. As a customer I think you have the right to express your disappointment.

    BUT

The real question is: Will it actually work? I don't know, but I am thinking he has the "upper hand" on you. He is most certainly fair for his price. If you'd ask me what I would do...I would concede and send him another 5 bucks with new/fixed custom. I'm sure the guy knows he can charge much more, but he doesn't....

The guy is almost 92 years old and is still pretty sharp mentally. He has always signed for money and that's not going to change until the end. If you really want your custom signed, just send him a new one with money, a piece of 100lb paper (cardboard for protection) and forget sending him an explanation letter that he's not going to read...

I have to agree. Plus he is not the one that smudged it why should he forsake his fee because of a user error? As for the crease that idk about- could be from usps beating things around and again might not be on him.

That said I would send him soon. He's canceled about 4-5 shows in Cooperstown this weekend already. He is still signing Fri and Sat in the AM for his museum but just 2 weeks ago he was on everyone's roster for signers. I hope all is well with him.

From experience, I would send him a new custom with $5.
