My friend always says yes when i ask him if he wants to buy some jerseys his collection is huge with many plain jerseys,mine isnt when ever he decides what ones he wants he offers me .25 to 50 cents each but when ever I try to buy some from him he always goes $1 to sometimes $2 and he always charges a ton for better cards that arnt worth anything (he has really no cards that are worth that much but can negotiate some how) and it really gets me mad when i say somthing like hey i just got a logo tag of what ever his name is and he goes my blank card is better (it never is) or i saw a triple go for 10 it just makes me mad.

If I get the gist of your post, it's that your "friend" wants to buy your cards at a low price, but sell stuff back to you at an inflated rate? That about right? That doesn't sound like a "friend" to me.

Now - to answer your question as to if it's fair or not...if it's a friend of yours, then no, I don't think it is fair. I do have a very good friend of mine (pretty much like a brother) who I collect with. We GIVE each other stuff all the time and cut deals so the other guy gets hooked up. That's what "friends" do for each other. This is a guy who I trust with not only my life, but the lives of my children and that's saying a lot for me.

What this guy sounds like is a dealer. If that is the case, then YES, it is fair, because he's trying to make money on the deal. If he buys a card from you for .50, but sells it for a $1, then he just made .50 on the deal and that is what capitalism is all about. If he bought a card from you for .50 and then sold it back to you for the same price, he's wasting his time.

It really all depends on your definition of "friend" in this case.

well he got me into collecting and when we trade i can normally give him a taste of his own medicine or at least i think so but no hes not a dealer he doesnt have an ebay or a scf account and really never gets new cards anymore because he thinks packs are a waste and that you can just get the hits for cheaper as singles

sort of but really hes picky when he trades even thought his top card books for about 80 a gibson jersey auto and the rest is mostly basic jerseys and autos

I guess I'm just trying to figure out what sort of friend this is. I just don't see a friend as being someone you're trying to screw on a deal - whether it's warranted or not.

best advice I can give, JUST SAY NO.

if he's not a dealer, hes screwing you, and you under the quist of friendship allow it to happen, sorry and good luck with it
