Shipping On An 8x10?
Earlier today, I was surfing Tidewater Sports looking for some good deals on autographs. I saw a sweet deal on a Michael Leighton 8x10, and went to purchase it a few minutes ago.
When I got to the checkout stage, the cheapest shipping option available was UPS Ground for $11. After clicking "USPS First Class" it said that "the system could not resolve the shipping" and to refresh and try again.
Does anyone here know why an 8x10 couldn't just be shipped normally and why it would cost me $11 when clearly cheaper options are available? I've sent 8x10's for much cheaper, and have purchased them at lower shipping prices...

Unfortunately, people jack up shipping to compensate selling the item at such a good price.

Yeah, $3.75 seemed like a great deal on a signed Leighton 8x10. Then, it turned out to be about $17 dlvd. No thanks!

Crazy shipping and HANDLING charges is what drove me away from ebay 7 years ago and I have never went back! I won a card on there for $2.00 and the guy wanted $5.95 shipping and handling. The card was like a $12 BV auto card and I sent the money order for it, but was so upset to see the card come in a PWE after paying for that shipping! Why when he spent Thrity some cents for shipping did I pay $5.95 for it to be delivered? It still upsets me when I think about it! I would be so much more impressed, if sites would make everything with delivery included!

Yeah, I refuse to pay more than $2.50 on eBay for shipping unless its something I really need. A while back, I won three seperate auctions. Total for three cards: $1.01 Total Plus Shipping: $8.51
I just don't see how UPS is the only option available for a simple 8x10. Shipping and handling can really sting sometimes.

well the shipping is how most sellers make their money. I was looking on ebay yesterday when I saw a great card for $.99, I was just about to buy it, then I saw the shipping. $8!!! Its the sellers way of compensating the very low cost and I do not like this.

I wish eBay would in incorporate a shipping limit on cards and 8x10's like they have on CD's. Never, does it cost more than $2.50 to ship a card, ever. Most sellers buy the bubble mailers in bulk, or at least a 8 pack of the small ones for $3, then it's usually around 88 cents to ship a small one, or $1.25 for a bigger one, I refuse to pay $3-$4.. If its' a card I really want, I'll just bite the bullet and get it, then drag down their stars by being honest about the S&H charges.

The funny thing is, though, this wasn't even through eBay. This was from www.tidewatersports.com, an autograph dealer website. You would think the shipping would be more reasonable.
