As in feeling the packs, trying to feel for a thicker card? No, never. As in looking at the packs that you can obviously see cards in (like the 80s packs that were clear, or the retail cubes)? Then yes...but, to me, that isn't searching...the company put the card(s) there for you to see, so why not look?

i agree with you saying that its not pack searching if you can clearly see through packs or see a thick card, but, with that logic (bold), you also justified pack searching... "the companies make it so you can feel packs and find hits, so why not do it?" haha
I by NO means am a pack searcher, and i agree with everyone else that they ruin the hobby, and please dont take this the wrong way, just pionting out that you also basicly just justified pack searching. haha

Try reading the whole post,he said he never feels for the thicker packs,he only mentions that the packs you can see through are fair game for collectors.

try reading my whole post...
my post was intended to basicly be a joke.
i agree with everything he said in his post 100%. Just simply stating that what he said was the reasoning for just looking at the packs, (which there is nothing wrong with, in my opinion), could also be the reasoning of a pack searcher....

Sorry didn't realize you were joking, either way any of us that have been collecting for years would know how to pack search, some will, some won't.It's just the nature of people,I don't think anyone would outright admit to packsearching, but I will admit if I notice a thicker pack I will buy it,I know 99% of the time it will be a decoy but I just think the thicker packs in most products have better cards in them.

I noticed while opening a box of topps platinum that the patch auto is about to bust open the pack. I dont search for things, but when you pick up a pack and it is twice as heavy, and as thick as the one befre it you can definately tell a difference. even if you are not looking for a difference!
