Well I mean, I have bought mostly SP Authentic "Auto" hot packs and I always get an auto of some sort. So I haven't been scammed in that regard, but as for the hits.. not so much. I have bought two lots of 3 hot packs, pretty much your hits for a box for $31 and $36 dollars but haven't pulled any outstanding autos. A Benn Ferriero FW auto or Alex Pietrangleo SotT have been the best two.

How easy is it to open and re-seal a pack? I mean I inspected the packs pretty thoroughly and didn't noticed anything glaring.

You will never hit anything good...
They only open the top of it, remove the card very slowly, and then insert a 4$ auto...and reseal it. Its pretty easy...

It can't be as easy as slipping a card out, putting in a low-value auto, and ironing it shut again. If it was that easy, I am sure there would be way more sellers on eBay doing it. I consistently buy from the same guy, who has 99.9% positive feedback and checking that feedback good cards do come out to other buyers.

With the BaP Patch, I have noticed all patches /15 come with a dual auto, so that obviously isn't resealing the pack. And I've heard at least at the beginning of tha SPA Product this year there was a pattern to how the auto's were laid in the box. If that's the case I've just had some bad luck with those, but paying $65 for 6 autos is the route I'm going because being in college is as close to being broke as it comes, so I can't afford to rip boxes haha

well a couple of years ago when i discovered hot packs on ebay duh!! i am sooo slow sometimes..i was in the 05-06 sidney crosby sp authentic rookie patch auto hunt..so i started seeing hot packs for $100 a pack for a patch auto rookie..i ended up buying like three..total..i did get a nice duncan kieth patch auto sick patch too...and some other player that plays for the sharks.another sick patch..so i guess i didn;t get ripped off..but i probably won't do that anymore...i would rather open a box or simply buy the card

I can tell you that I've tagged a couple resealers on eBay over the years, and if you buy a "hot pack" you will almost certainly be buying into a scam. When I first got back into collecting, I bought a couple since I didn't know any better. Got scammed with some middling "guaranteed cut auto" and when I did some research, found the guy buying them under one name and selling the resealed packs under another. My exact card was bought off eBay, I discovered, and put in the hot pack I bought. They are a SCAM.
