Does Nick Lidstrom Not Sign a Lot?
I just pulled an 09-10 BAP auto and did a search on the Bay to get an idea of value and I didn't see any singles. There's a couple of the duals and I did some general searches for "Lidstrom auto" and such, and not a lot came up in the results. Is he one of those guys that doesn't sign a ton of cards, and as such do I have a really nice pull out of that little blaster?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Good question! This card has proven to be a bit of an enigma for me. Your question basically has 2 answers. Does Nick sign a lot? Meh....I don't know. I wouldn't say the market is flooded, but I wouldn't say his auto is as difficult to find as some other players. Is the BAP card something special? Yeah, I'd say so. I saw the other day that it books at $25, when your run-of-the-mill BAP auto books at about $12. I've seen a number of them on eBay back around the time BAP came out, and the reason I never bought one is that they were consistently higher than I wanted to pay, and higher than I've seen basically the same card go for in year's past. That's not to say the card isn't nice, because the proof is in the pudding and that pudding is the price the card sells for. It's possible that the card is shortprinted. Hope that helps!

That does, and I thank you for it. I did a Beckett search and I see that while he does have a lot of auto'd cards, it looks like most are through ITG and the ones that are from UD tend to be numbered to 50 or less. That obviously isn't a catch-all, but it seems like he's got fewer quantities out there than a lot of the other big name players. I must say, he does have a pretty nice signature too.

I agree with everything you said RGM81. There aren't too many non-numbered autos of Nick's out there. I love his signature. I think it's a really nice bridge between the letter-for-letter clarity of the old timers like Gordie Howe and the squiggles that seem to be the norm for players today. Structure wise, you can see most of the letters on Nick's auto, but not all. On the topic of autos, if you get a chance look up Jakub Kindl (a Wings prospect) Ultimate rc autos. His signature is very...unique. I think it's hilarious. Oh, and if you're looking to trade the Lidstrom I could definitely use it. I don't know if I have anything for it, but feel free to look through my bucket.

I think he's got the award for best pl;ayer with least hobby love. I dunno if its just he doesn't need the endorsements? I need an auto'd jersey of him for my collection.

I've only seen two copies of the Champs Signatures Lidstrom. One in a ebay BIN that was bought for $60 BIN before I even saw it listed, and the one I got in a trade on another site. Definitely a SSP.

In my opinion theres a TON of Nick autos. Much more than say Datsyuk who just started signing with UD this year and more than Zetty. Now this is based primarily on Wings autos in general as I don't collect anything but Wings, but Nick has more auto'd stuff year after year hands down than any other Wing. And I always chalked up his pricing due to the saturation of his stuff not that he gets no hobby love. Here's a few examples in my PC around 20 autos ?

but keep in mind I don't go crazy for nick autos bc I have so many...LOL

It is indeed available. I was looking at the Beckett checklist the other day and I noticed that while he's in a lot of sets, a lot of those sets are pretty limited (lots of high-end ITG stuff) and there's a lot with #'d /50 or less. So he's prominent, but not necessarily easy to find.
