    Kings Sign Ponikarovski

No terms on the deal yet, but Dreger posted on Twitter that Poni is on his way to LA.

I like the player and it's a lateral move from Frolov with hopefully a little more offense and chemistry with Stoll/Brown.

We'll see how the numbers shake out but I'm good with it. It was time for Frolov to move on and he clearly didn't want to take a long term deal because the money just wasn't there.

Now let's see if DL can make a move for a top-4 d-man with one of his younger forwards. Kaberle?

edit - Dreger says one year - still no details on money.

3.2 mill. Meh. Doubt he'll be here for more than a year. Just filling in a hole for now

agreed - probably just one year. but i'm ok with that. i actually think he's a better fit than frolov is on the Kings.

Yeah he is. Cap hit is actually $3m not $3.2m. His big body will be nice to have but by all accounts he's like Brian Boyle and just doesn't use it to his advantage.

If Kings fans were not impressed with Frolov's intensity , you won't be more with Ponikarovski !

Pens (against MTL) made him a Healthy Scratch for 4 - 5 of those games.

When he was traded to the Pens, he quit big time and he didn't even show up for the playoffs, he can only play for the Leafs with Sundin as his centre.

Blame it on the unfamiliarity of the situation.

Sundin wasnt his center in 08-09 or in 09-10 and with the leafs he had 102 points in 143 games.
