    What does refractor mean? I'm a noob

    Can you guys tell me what a refractor means?

    Refractors refract light and give off a rainbow-like shine when you look at them from different angles.

    it will also usually say refractor on the back beside or under the number.. all topps products after 98 have it written on it somewhere

    I didn't know the difference between the regular set and the refractors up until a year or so ago. Didn't even know that two of the three '93-'94 Dominique Wilkins cards I had were refractors.

    It's easier to see the difference if you hold a reg. and ref. next to each other.
