    Smile PackGeek

    Hey guys,
I'm new to the boards here - so I wanted to say hello. I'm also super excited you guys have a forum specifically for box/pack breaks. I love busting 70's and 80's wax. I just put together a website to share my pack break videos with other collectors. If you're interested at all it's: PackGeek.com I just tore into several '75 Topps mini packs, as well as some '84 Donruss and '89 Score Football. I love hunting for HOF rookie cards. Every pack of old wax is like a poor man's treasure hunt for me - hence the name "Pack Geek".

Anyhow, thanks for letting me share guys and good luck with all of your own rips.

    Sincerely,
    Jeff

Anybody else opening anything other than new stuff here? I'm about to bust some early 80's racks and hopefully some vending. Any takers?

    Thanks for sharing guys!

Jax: How did the '81 Topps look? I love the Topps cards from that year - no big rookies, but tons of great HOF cards (and a Henderson 2nd year).

44: I remember when I was a little kid collecting - those '84 Donruss were THE packs to buy. They were way more expensive than the other packs from '84 and '85, but that Mattingly rookie was already iconic.

I started buying baseball cards (I don't know if I'd call it collecting because I was 7 and I played with them) in 1986. I quit in the early 1990's after things started to get a little ridiculous. I recently just picked collecting back up and I'm mostly focused on set building. I've been considering doing some vintage, but I just haven't figured out which product I want to start with.

Love the breaks... Just something special about pulling 20 or 30 year old cards out of packs.

DCart: I have a similar story. Started collecting/buying back in '85, stopped collecting around '92 and have just started getting back into it the last few years. There's definitely a part of my childhood attached to the hobby, and it almost therapeutic to see some of those old cards from my past again. Thanks for your reply!

    Jeff
