Been reading the forums for a few weeks now and finally decided to join.  I collected basketball in the early-mid '90s and just recently have gotten back into the hobby.  I have a decent collection of oddball memorabilia (a lot of Dream Team stuff from Kellogs, McDonalds, etc, and a lot of Shaq stuff - close relative lived in Orlando and was always sending me promo items) and key guys from that mini-era.
 
Held onto my Jordans, Pippens, and Garnetts especially, and they are all still in great condition. 
 
I'm excited to begin collecting again and I feel that this time around I am doing it for the right reasons; I now value and want to obtain cards that I just like for whatever reason (fan of the player, cool looking card, etc) instead of only assigning a dollar sign to each piece of cardboard.  It doesn't hurt that many of the cards I coveted as a 12 year old (mainly some of the finest RCs and Refractors) have come down in "book value" and I now actually have an income.  The perfect storm.
 
I will be around the basketball forums and I have some exciting unopened packs coming my way (95-96 Finest Series 1 box and 3 packs of 96-97 Finest Series 1).  Will try to open at least some live in the "break" forum - which, by the way, is a pretty cool idea and was the reason I got hooked on this site in the first place.
 
Good to be here, and hopefully some of you will have some late 80s Fleer and some mid-90s Finest to trade with me.

Welcome to SCF Jeff.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Only collect what you like and don't do it for profit. If you're in it to make money you will be sorely disappointed. We are happy to have you here and good luck getting some trades going. Please take a look at our new member rules when you get a chance, and if there is anything I can do to make your time here easier just give me a holler.
