Need your input
I need some input from you. I am possibly looking to build out a basketball set of some type that I can use to eventually auction off at eBay, will the proceeds from that auction going towards the DBA Foundation (see the link for information).

I'm not looking for to build something out super high end, but I don't want it to be cheap either. I'm in the process of building out 08-09 SP Game Used Hockey Base/Rookie set, just to give you a one of the projects I am working on.
Since I'm not a regular basketball collector, your input will be valued and appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Scott,
You mentioned you wanted to do a FB set...but then said "I don't do BKB"
Just want to see if maybe you meant to say you want to do BKB, or if you are sticking with FB?
I've got a huge box of early 90's FB that was part of a huge lot I purchased last year. Don't collect it at all, but I got bored one day and sorted it out... I know most of the stuff from that time isn't a goldmine, but it's just sitting here none the less. PM if you might be interested!!! Thanks

i copied and pasted this in FB, BB and this forum, and forgot to change the sport in the 1st line
So, yes, I'm looking at all 4 sports as a possibility

thought so too...just didn't want to make a long rant on your post. i'll find the specifics for that set in the morning, and get back to you. i'm more on the "donation" side of the deal....but obviously shipping would be a factor for any complete set

How are you planning on building the set primarily - box breaks or other means? SP Game-Used is pricy - many (myself included) feel that it is over-priced. SP Authentic has auto RCs and auto patch RCs, unlike SP GameUsed which are usually just #ed. SP Authentic tends to hold it's value better, with regards to RCs but again it is very hit or miss; mostly miss.
Personally I like Topps Chrome (#1) and Topps Finest. They are attractive, fun to collect, not cheap but not expensive and it is not too difficult to build a set (esp. Topps Chrome). They also hold their value reasonably well.
