Trade Bait Question
Hey guys, I'm looking to get some nice trade bait cuz my fs/ft section of my bucket is reall thin. What's the cheapest way to do so? Buying some singles off eBay or busting a couple boxes (if so which ones?) I've personally been trying to stay away from busting boxes just cuz I always lose money on em and rarely got PC hits (never pulled a durant or tyreke).
I'm not looking for anything too high end like NT or something, just some nice autos or patches that could be used in a decent trade. What do u guys think? Thanks for the look!

My first suggestion would be to just buy the cards you want and not mess around with tradebait. Unless you do your homework and are smart and patient with your money, you're just going to end up losing out on tradebait anyways. If you go the box route, it should be because you enjoy opening boxes, not because you're hoping to add nice tradebait. Opening boxes is not good money management.
If you really want to go the buying tradebait route, you should look to buy from people who are selling in lots to pick up quick/sizable cash. They will usually give you a good discount just to be done with the sale and put cash in their account. You can get a good return on your investment if you find the right situation to buy.

Thanks for the input! I love busting boxes, it just kinda sucks cuz I usually lose on em. I used to open a few boxes a month but I think I'll focus my money more on singles while still opening a box every month or two.
P.S. I just saw the NBA Logoman combo w/ CP3 listed last night for sale on eBay BIN is at $7,500

Yeah I saw it, but the asking price is too high for me. I'm leaving it in my sig though in case whoever buys it ends up selling it down the line. Going to have to settle for 2 of the 3 KD Logomen from NT... which isn't too shabby lol.
I used to open a ton of boxes, too. It's a waste of money and I am so much happier with just buying the KDs I want for my collection. I'll bust a box every couple of months or so, but it's a much better situation for me now.

I don't see the point of buying tradebait when you can just buy the PC card directly............ Unless you see a really good deal in ebay or card show on MJ, Lebron, Kobe auto for really cheap. Then you can buy them and hopefully you can trade with someone who has Durant and Evans auto.
Also I want to point out. Almost no one wants to give up Durant or Evans for non-name players GU/Auto.

haha I wouldn't mind 2 of the 3 myself. But thats DEFINITELY way too high end for me lol.
Ya, I realized that after spending 450 bucks on 3 boxes of absolute memorabilia and getting back like $150 and 1 pretty lowend pc hit that the money woulda been much better spent on all PC items.
I'm getting the itch to bust something again though haha.
xavier-ya ur right i kinda just wanted to lessen the cost but I guess getting tradebait would be stupid and just put the cost toward the tradebait instead of the PC cards anyway.Last edited by KD35durant; 08-09-2010 at 05:06 PM.

You can always get cheap Durant and Evans stuff in ebay or card show as lot. Or you can check this website out: http://www.checkoutmycards.com/ You can buy base cards or low end stuff and ship together. This can easily build up the number of cards in your collection. And you have a thinking of buying box, just go right ahead and search for Durant Auto.

Very logical, and the right move probably. I guess the fact that its jsut one card vs. a whole box discouraged me haha.
I may buy a durant now and wait for prestige to come out, cuz after all I still do what the excitement of busting a box

I've been selling off my entire non-Durant collection for about 2 months now, and I've been very happy with the results. I have only bought one box over that span, and I instantly regretted buying it after I opened. When you save up for a couple of weeks/months/whatever to get one card you really want, it's more rewarding than opening a box 99.9% of the time.
