All this talk about a Teemu Selanne(notes)/Paul Kariya reunion with the Anaheim Ducks makes us recall their "package deal" back in 2003: When the two decided to take less money as unrestricted free agents to both sign with the Colorado Avalanche in a quest for the Cup.

And what a brilliant move it was, as the Avs were eliminated in the second round, Selanne had the worst offensive season of this career and the lockout ensured that neither player would ever make the money they gave up as free agents in the Summer of 2003 ...
