UD SP Authentic JSY Patch Auto

I am currently sitting on an unopened box of SP Authentic FB....I bought another box last week, and the box did not contain a JSY Auto...someone wrote on here that if the serial number ends in an odd number, the box doesnt have a jsy auto, but of the box ends in an even number, it contains a jsy auto.

Well, my last box ended in a 1, and this box ends in a 3....is there any validity to this claim, or can i bust this badboy open? Its killing me just sitting here unopened, but im not going to flush $170 down the drain when i am 100% sure theres no jsy auto.

I am not sure how legit that claim is. You would think the UD would take more care into randomly inserting Patches and not make it so obvious. But then again, we are talk about UD so i dunno.

Thats only 50% true. Basically where that came from is that if you take a complete case, all your patches will be either in even or odd numbered boxes. If you open box A and it has an auto patch and the serial number ends in 3, all the auto patches in that box will be in the odd number boxes...BUT just cause its odd does not guarantee an auto patch. In that particular case you could open another odd number box and get a Authentic Artifacts instead of an auto patch. Basically there is just a better chance you will get an auto patch using that method. I opened two boxes from the same case, one even and one odd and got a SOTT in the first box and a Authentic Artifacts in the second. Your box there could either have an auto patch or a jersey and your reg autos. Hope that makes some sense, do a search and you'll find the thread where its covered in full, and it appears to hold up every time.

thanks for the info, but i am still confused! The box (as well as the first) was ordered from DCSSportscards.com. Perhaps this is the same case that the box was taken from. In the firts box, i got a SOTT Robert Gallery, an Inscriptions B.J. Symons, and to jake-™™™ rookies (Triandos Luke fans raise your hand - thats what i thought). So thats why im a little apprehensive to open this box...if i get confirmation one way or another, that will help me to either open it or sell it on ebay for a minimal loss....

So essentialyy what you are saying is that it is silly to buy single boxes from dealers online because they could theoretically open the case, break both an even and an odd box, find out which have the auto patches and break those themselves and sell of the non-auto patch boxes to the consumers? Man, UD makes it way too easy for sellers to gyp buyers. Especially us who dont have $2000 laying around to drop on a case.

    Sad but true...

There was a whole thread regarding this subject and someone went through and collected a bunch of info from different collectors and it seemed to hold true. Heres an example of what he found:

    Box A #'d xxxxxx1 = possible SOTT auto plus the reg. auto(s)
    Box b #'d xxxxxx2 = Auto/Patch or Authentic Artifacts plus reg. auto(s)
    Box c #'d xxxxxx3 = possible SOTT auto plus the reg. auto(s)
    Box d #'d xxxxxx4 = Auto/Patch or Authentic Artifacts plus reg. auto(s)
    Box e #'d xxxxxx5 = possible SOTT auto plus the reg. auto(s)
    Box f #'d xxxxxx6 = Auto/Patch or Authentic Artifacts plus reg. auto(s)
    Box g #'d xxxxxx7 = possible SOTT auto plus the reg. auto(s)
    Box h #'d xxxxxx8 = Auto/Patch or Authentic Artifacts plus reg. auto(s)

See the pattern? Basically you'll never have a SOTT and a auto/pach or jersey in the same box. Of course the even/odd sequence is different from case to case, but the guy that looked into it found this pattern to be true everytime, and it held true for the boxes i opened. Now SOTT are seeded 1:72 so there are basically 4 per case, so if the SOTT came in the even numbers than 2 of the even #'d boxes in the case are going to have just the reg. autos, 4 will have a SOTT and reg auto(s) and the 6 odd #'d boxes will have either a auto/patch or authentic artifacts and reg. auto(s).
