Those Amazing SOTT Redemptions
Can anybody explain why they are still selling in the $45-60 range even though the results of the mystery redemption have revealed $20 cards? It makes no sense! Is UD buying them up to save face?

Probably not everybody is aware of the checklist.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

But how could you not be aware? From FB to every forum on the web talks about them. Where are these collectors located? It has to be somewhere without the internet.

Sadly, even as large as SCF is, we're just a fraction of the total number of collectors out there. :)

Pretty much.
Facebook and Forums like SCF ?? I'd be shocked to learn that even 5% of collectors use either.

I mean the same collectors are sophisticated enough to use ebay and paypal. So you'd think they'd do some research? If you just google "mystery SOTT duals" you get the link to the SOTT tracker on SCF (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...ClOAZQ&cad=rja)

Dude, we're in an era where some university students believe that going to Wikipedia constitutes "research" for their major term papers. It doesn't take much sophistication to go to eBay and type in a search item.

I guess. For some reason, I believe that anyone who is going to take $50 bucks and spend it on cards, would have done at least a scintilla of research into what they are buying.
I think this is one of the reasons hockey collecting needs a reputable hobby blog. Something I may consider myself.

I bet that lots of people on ebay do not think of using a message board because we ask for higher prices than ebay so you might as well just stick to ebay and buy everything for cheaper. What they do not realize is the $3 a card they are paying for shipping. Plus on a message board you actually have to read and that is not as much fun as just looking for great deals. They probably search what prices that those SOTT redemptions are going for and just pay the same price. They used to go for upwards of $100 and then the word got out about them not being high end cards and the prices dropped down to $50.
