To grade... or not to grade...
Back when I was a few years younger... I went to Target with my mom and 2 year younger brother (that just doesn't seem grammatically correct...
.)
A little background
It happened to be during the 05-06 NHL campaign. Of course... the year of Crosby and Ovechkin. I was looking at the hockey card section and my mom said we could choose a box to split. It so happened we chose a 05-06 Upper Deck Series 2 blaster. We get home and split the packs. I get 5, my brother gets 5. (I think it was 10 packs a box at least)
I so luckily pulled a Sidney Crosby Victory Rookie. Since my brother doesn't collect anymore he really doesn't care, but here is my question to you all.
I have kept the utmost care of this card. This card is in nearly mint condition. I have it kept in a little 4 screw frame due to the fact it is my only Crosby rookie (I know it sounds like I obsess over this card... I don't, I just took great care of it)
I have been observing the value of the card for a couple years now, and it is slowly raising in value every year I check it. Right now I believe the max is at $30 right now and still has potential, even though it is a normal Victory card.
Because of this value, even though the condition is tremendously great, is it worth grading it? Should I wait? Or not even grade at all? Help me decide

personnally, I would buy one already graded and resell the one you have. You will not face deception of low grade, and it should cost you about the same price!

That's an idea... I'll think about it. Depending on the service I choose, personally, it might be cheaper to have to one I have graded. But I will also take this into consideration.
Thanks!

For a Victory card, it really isn't worth it unless you want the card preserved at whatever status it is in now and want two little plates on it with some numbers. You've got it well protected in its current holder, presumably it's not going anywhere, so why bother with the expense? There are already over 100 each of BGS 9.0 and 9.5 cards out there of this card, you'd be just as well to get one of those than to send in the copy you currently own and risk it getting a poor grade. Honestly, if it were to come back anything less than a 9.0 you'd have wasted your money and probably actually devalued the card.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

That sums it up then.
Thanks for your input. I'll keep the card as is and I might go with marclemag's idea. Thanks guys

Personally, I dont care how nice the card is, getting it put in one of the those slabs ruins it for me. IMO, anything less than a 10 is technically flawed, and the % of cards graded a 10 are incredibly low. Its pretty much a waste, not to mention they look silly, take up a lot more space, and are a nightmare in terms of keeping a collection uniform. For me it just adds another level of scrutiny to the card.
