Steve Young??
I always hear "it's an autopen" and "no it's not!" with returns from his foundation. Anyone know anything?

I got a return last year....looked like an autopen.

I'm pretty positive it is an autopen. I have been collecting political autographs for a while and have gotten fairly good at spotting it. Other sports stars that use autopens include Wayne Gretzky and Ron Artest.

Best fake autograph ever is Mohamad Ali! I still kept his to this day. I know it is a fake, but it looked really convincing!

I kept his because I know that with his disease it is hard for him to sign and have heard private signings take forever with him. I figured that since a autopen is technically a "legal signature", I would keep that in my collection!

ive heard all the autopen stuff, and they all look similar but they are all diffrent i have yet to see two that look exactly same.ive gotten many steve young autos in person and all of those have big diffrences in the sig, unlike the one from his foundation those have very small diffrences but still diffrent.

Autopens tend to look "shaky" the pen on the machine only draws straight lines...

I honestly think it may depend on whether or not you send a donation to the foundation. I think a donation may produce an authentic signed item.

Brian,
I totally agree with you. I sent a donation with my items, he signed them and I also received a nice thank you letter from his foundation. I know it was the normal form letter signed by his wife but they really don't have to take this additional step.
By the way, the items I sent with my donation were my own custom cards that he signed. I haven't heard of groups like this that would bother to try to fit a custom card (small...) in their machine for AP.Last edited by lizard-jd; 08-25-2010 at 10:04 AM.
