How Long Does Everyone Spend On Scf Each Day?
Sorry if this thread doesn't belong here. Mods, please move it if it doesn't.
I was interested in hearing how much time each person spends in scf each day. Why? Well I spend probably 5 hours each day pretty much just staring at the computer or lying on the couch staring at my iPod touch surfing SCF. And I was wondering If others spend that much time...
I'm feeling a little guilty at spending so much time on here.
I am ADDICTED to SCF!!!!
Let's hear everyone elses thoughts :)

But it is time well wasted! Your choice, pretend to be busy on SCF or help the wife with housework! I manage several hours each evening, morning and afternoons too when quiet at work!!

Since last year, I spend 6 to 15 hour a day on this site. Not so much for trading but because I code full time on the new card management system that include a Online price guide, a personal free inventory and a Storefront. The inventory is plan to go live sometime next week, working on the final detail like creating new forums that will be public to let member ask question and make OPG request for error or missing sets or cards.
I test daily the application on this site and since it use the forums login and the application work with the forum applications then I am probably the member that is login the most often. Since a session last 2 hour, even when I go do shopping I still appear on the site as present.
So not for the same reason but I do spend a lot of time here. Not sure if it's a statistic we can get from the VB activity feilds as to who is login the most and how many hour, would be funny to see such report.
So check the annoucement forum next week for our Beta lauch of the inventory. Expect to see more in time. What you will see is just the base but more will be coded in the year to come. So this will mean many update long the way to add new features and modules. There will also be a player collector module that is plan and will be made to manage by player with feature aimed at player collector.
Unlike our current inventory system, where you have to enter by typing text, the new inventory will be all search, find and add the cards you need. Add a image per card. If you have a subcrition to a online price guide, we have a importer that can import Book value. So this way you can store you own value, put the value manually as well.
Member will now have a alternative to use third party site to host their image. Now they will be able to have their own database driven ineventory page, with a section where they can show off their PC items as well. All listing allow for a just image navigation with four zoom level showing 25 image per page. Since you can upload one image per unique card, a member can upload unlimited ammount of image but you remain limited to one image per card. A quantity field let you set how many of these cards you have.
Also one of the cool feature of the photo album is that you can check let's say a member PC or trader list and filter it by print run or rookie or just auto or memorabilia. Filter for one player name only. Team are not supoported.
Later down the road it would be cool to create a team mdodule but this will ask for a lot of work to assign card to a team and not sure we will decide to do it.
The player module will allow mutiple card entry per unique card. So if a player collector wants to add thee RC number to /99, he will be able to enter them and for each card he will be able to enter the back and front images.
The free inventory will remain base on one record per unique card and one image. Still they are unlimited to the number of unique cards you will enter. The image navigation is like a album and you see only the card information once you pass you mouse over the image, so it's still show the card info when you need it. I think many member will prefer this over third party site to host images.
And the good thing is that since I code it, you will have a pair of hear that will listen to what some would like to see. So, in the end member will have more reason to spend more time on this site, I thinK!!!Last edited by CoolHandLuke; 08-19-2010 at 01:28 PM.

Once I found this site I've become addicted... I feel like I am going to become like you guys and spend half of my teenage/adult life on this site... but I love the hobby so it's worth it.

It's not how much time I spend on here. It's how much time I spend in the real world.
which is pretty small.
