Does anyone know of a link to Panini's hockey products that are coming out? I'd like to see what their stuff will look like, when it's coming out, price point, etc. Also, do you guys think that with Panini releasing hockey product it's the death of UD hockey? With the fewest amount of collectors ever and an economic downturn, I just can't see people buying MORE product. It seems like people will just pick and choose, thus reducing the amount of cash UD gets due to less product sold. Thought?

If you go here and scroll down to hockey you can see some info on their upcoming Certified and Score sets.

And it all depends on how UD reacts to this and changes their ways. We have already seen that some sets are being consolidated (Ice rookies being placed in Black Diamond). If they can make their products more valuable to purchase (more hits, less "event used" items, less redemptions), they'll have a great shot at increasing their profits in comparison to how much they're spending.

So far previews have been posted for Certified and Score.

And no, Panini's arrival is not the death of Upper Deck hockey; it's the death of the monopoly, nothing quite so grandiose. There will be the same number of products on the market, just 2 distributors (plus ITG of course) sharing the load instead of one.

I'm not getting why Panini doesn't post their upcoming products and release dates somewhere... hard to tell if there are delays unless we hear it from distributors (who don't always tell us). Looks like Certified has been delayed until AFTER Score now. Kind of debunks their whole strategy.

The LCS guys have no info at all on anything Panini last I heard.
