    hot packs on ebay

There are lots of those hot or guaranteed auto or gu'd packs on ebay. Has anyone here bought them? If so, have any of you had any success with pulling big cards from there or are there just crappy auto or gu cards in there that the seller just puts in there and re-seals the packs? Thanks.

I think you'll find the consensus here is, don't waste your time & money on those. Here's a link to a similar thread.

    Bingo. There's you answer.

And here's some guy who bought 20 of them and got nothing but junk.

Just buy the autographs or game used off of eBay if that's what you want. I mean you can get them for basically nothing so I don't see why you need to pull them from a pack.

How in the heck would know if it was a hot pack?

Just supposing there was some MAGIC way of knowing it was a hot pack, why in the world would that person not open it themselves?

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is!

A lot of people can feel packs for GU-Autos because there thicker. Ive heard some things about bar codes. In this case it sounds like someone resealed the pack though.

These people buy those food resealers and take a game used card or an autograph and then seal the pack back up and then they sell the pack on eBay as a "hot pack".

The sellers rid themselves of crappy cards that wouldn't sell for a buck and they get rich because people pay up to $15 a pack because they think they are going to pull some rare card.

These guys all nailed it for you. Yes, there is an auto or gu in the packs, however 99.9% of the time it's a resealed pack. Think about it this way, what if you could buy the "bad" cut signatures from SP Legendary cuts this year. The "cheap" ones sell for $65-85. However the guaranteed packs sell for 120-180. Not a bad deal. Oh and when you see the feedback that says "Pulled a $1200 Lebron Auto, I can't believe it". They are lying, and are probably a friend of the seller.

I tried this once with an auto pack and I pulled a Miguel Cabrera auto #/50 from leather and Lumber so they are at least not all bad.
I just happened to take a chance and come out on top I am sure tho.
I do not think I would do it again.

I actually purchased a couple different ones over a year ago and pulled a $50 Vick GU. The other pulls were junk. I would definitely stay away from them.
